Child Items moved to Done state

I notice that when I move child items to parent in a sub-status-view, edit some stuff like adding new child items to the new parent, and then move the parent back to the original parent it came from, all sub-child items get placed in the Done column. The status is also set to Done, but only for the moved item, not the child items which are underneath it...
I hope it is clear like this...??? Example to clarify, project, with child item per phase, I drag the phase child item out of the project, add some child items to the phase and then move it back to the project. Then it happens...

Hey Wim Verloop, just to be sure we look into the right thing - any chance you could share a screenshot with list view of such hierarchy/structure? Annotations what is what would be the cherry on the top.

I made the following scenario:
- Testproject with 3 phases as child items
- For each phase I made steps as child items
- For one example step I made a sub-step as child item
What goes wrong (comments per screenshot):
- First I move the project to a sub-statuses view
- I move one or more phases out of the project
- I move one of the steps out of the phase
- I move the step back to the phase (no screenshot)
- I move the phase back to the phase back to the project
- I redo the 2nd and 3rd step
- The sub-step is in status "done".
I hope this clarifies it all a bit, it is reproducible.
