Exclude finished items having a date from date related filtering

I work with Kanban views selecting items with a deadline, like today, this week, etc. I see some items having a due date which lies before today (or any other filter), so not sure if this is supposed to happen. Next to that, without filtering, items can sometimes say due 297 days in the top row of the item, but when I look into it, the item has been marked finished. Of course I can delete the due date, but I'd rather keep it to track progress etc.
So, am I doing something wrong or is this an underestimated feature? :)

Wim Verloop can you share a screenshot of an overdue item which is also completed demonstrating the problem?

Vidas Yes see attachments. There are no other child items having due dates except the ones in the screenshot. Please let me know if you need more info, ok?

Wim Verloop: thank you, all clear now. This is the side effect of recent change - we have started showing "aggregated" date on Kanban cards, which requires main item to be completed in order not to have red highlight. You could hide that date to remove this nuance by turning off a board view settng "Sum child item values". But then you would also lose total percentage from there. Another option remove dates as a visible field? If none of these workaround work, we will need to have an improvement with some "smarter" logic here.

Vidas The "Sum child item values"did not yield any result and I need use due date field a lot so, put it on somebody's list for sometime to be done ;) No hurry!

Wim Verloop: got it. We will start with solutions list. I will share findings and update once I have more clarity.
