Global Custom Fields

When creating custom fields, (for instance, a drop down custom field), all of the options only exist in that workspace. If I want that dropdown option to be added to all workspaces, I have to manually go into each workspace, go into each custom field setting, click on settings and add the option.
I'd like to be able to "add to all workspaces" when creating things like that.

What do you think about an alternative such as: "Clone custom field to workspace(s)"? I am asking because it would way simpler, without the need to have global field management.

Vidas Can you specify how that approach would work? We currently have long lists of 1000+ custom field values to maintain over several workspaces. Using the clone option, would this actively remain synced? Or is this a one and done.
Global fields could also be a great addition to the item id's, as currently having seperate ones per board limits their functionality, once you start working with synced copies to different boards
