it would be very useful to be able to hide completed boards and rows, as well as items

Hide completed items -> In customization menu, uncheck "Completed items" option : I don't have this option

Hey MarcoB you should be able to achieve all these needs by:

Hide completed items -> In customization menu, uncheck "Completed items" option
Hide rows -> In filters menu, row category, choose which rows to display and which to hide
Hide boards -> From context menu "..." choose "Archive" action.
