Kanban as a workspace overview

Our use case sounds similar to the original request. We have managers with direct reports under them who have tasks across multiple projects. Also, not all work is assigned when it's dropped into the backlogs on different boards. So the ability to view, sort, and filter work across boards as well as see the assigned work for specific employees across different boards/projects would be very useful.

For now we have not yet identified a valid solution how to combine rows and statuses into a single Kanban overview. For personal use of all items on single Kanban - users should refer to the one found in homepage "My Kanban".

Slightly concerned due to different feedback and changed understanding of this improvement. I am collecting more info before we resume coding here.

I would really apprieciate your input here. Since we have released My Kanban in home page. We are now at the point where we will start implementing "Kanban as a workspace report/overview".
- Should we follow same concept/format as in My Kanban? If not, maybe you can share a description or sketch how you see it?
- Maybe My Kanban covers a lot and the need for Workspace overview has diminished?
- Anything else I should be aware of?

Vidas What I want is a Kanban and Gantt chart where I can see all statuses at a glance, similar to ClickUp.
The current My Kanban seems to show only tasks ‘assigned’ to me. As an organization manager, I want to see all statuses at a glance.
Vidas
Teddy Park: all good, I uderstand that you need a view which takes everyones tasks. This is exactly what is next for this Kanban of all boards. The problem for us is that it's still unclear what is the desired way to show different statuses from different boards. In clickup it shows all statuses as seprate columns. At least I have a hard time imagining this as a useful overview, because it will end up having 10's of statuses making board a horizontal sausage.
My question was realted - what if we do Kanban and show statuses grouped by status type, just like we did in My Kanban? Still, it is also not ideal, I know, but for now, unless someone shares a better idea these are the two options:
A) Show all statuses as separate columns
B) Group statuses by type

Vidas As a programme manager I use Teamhood in a more hierarchical approach using multiple workspaces and multiple boards. The projects and subprojects are linked through synced copies. The setting up and planning of a programme takes quite some effort but the benefit is that every progress is consolidated at the higher level. I have (at least) four levels of workspaces.
- Strategic level (roadmap per service to be developed now and in the future)
- Programme level (a swim lane per plateau, yes I use plateau planning...)
- Project level (with a swim lane for each dept involved in that project).
- Subproject or team level (with a swim lane per employee)
By connecting all items it gives me a sense of insight... It is not ideal because a lot of synchronise repairing needs to be done. But for me it works atm.

Wim Verloop: thank you for feedback. If I uderstand you correctly, your use case needs even broader aggregation from different workspaces? Or it is still about single workspace view, where all Kanban boards are merged from only from that workspace?
And question no.2 - how do you expect to see those boards visualized in a single view?
W
Wim Verloop
Vidas: Yes from different workspaces. Since I use the different workspaces hierarchically.
A2: My hierarchical approach results in one overview which I have now, the other workspaces being subordinate to the top level one. Perhaps the best way to explain is to come and have a look?

Vidas I think the new homepage is awesome. Better than I could have thought and solves all of my problems

We are doing a home page personal Kanban board which will include items from all workspaces /boards that are assigned to you.

We have reached concept/logical design phase with this feature. I am keen to learn whether we understand why in particular you want such view. Is it because you can aggregate all tasks from all boards and then filter only your personal tasks to have this "all things for me" view? Or is it some other use case? Please elaborate, as it can potentially speed up process of shipping this product change.

Vidas: For me, it would be beneficial to see any of my active tasks. We do monthly task tracking, and sometimes I'm added to tasks and miss the email. Or sometimes I can't work on it this week, so later I have to manually click through every board to see if there are any tasks I might need to do.
With a global Kanban view, I could just filter everything that is assigned to me with the existing filter system. It could have further utility by being able to filter by multiple people for team-based tasks, as well.
I think a really good feature to have for this is the ability to filter rows by name. We use "June" and "July" naming conventions, so if I wanted to see everything back in May that I completed, I could use this filter.

Vidas: I would like it for a "all things for person X" on the workspace admin side of things. This would allow me to quickly see tasks that could be worked on by "person X". We frequently have instances where the planned work cannot be completed due to something else not being done, in which case that person needs work to stay busy while we plan around the roadblock.
