At the moment we can convert a child item to a parent item but I can't find a feature to convert a parent item to a child item. This would allow to better organise the board.

Thank you, Vidas, for clarifying the available workarounds.
However, these approaches don't fully address the main issue: once items have already been created as parent items, there should be a straightforward way to convert them into child items of another parent.
This functionality would be essential for reorganizing existing structures without having to recreate items or lose their history. It would make board management much more flexible and intuitive, especially when refining or restructuring larger projects.

Till T. hey, this has been improved for Kanban items. You can click on Kanban card and choose "convert to child". See image attached. Is it what you need or something else?

Thanks, Vidas — I wasn’t aware of this improvement! I also asked TeamhoodAI about it earlier, but it didn’t provide any information regarding this option. Good to know it’s already available — I’ll give it a try.

Adriana there is no such menu option, but you can drag and drop in Kanban sub-child status group, list view or gantt view. Another "workaround" is to add item as waiting or blocking dependency and then in item details change it to child via drag and drop. Nonetheless, your comment is valid and we have this improvement on our radar, just need to select quite a nice UX option so it is not that tedious compared to existing workarounds.
