With Option A, an additional feature could be useful: allowing individual users to pin the thread that is most relevant to them at the top. I think this would incorporate the advantages of both Option A and Option B.

Hey there,
everybody <3 (A) ;)

Michael Bielat: thank you for the extra effort! We see one risk with option A - it can be harder to find/navigate threaded comments, but it's positive side gives less scattered conversations and multiple conversation support in single item.

For our current way of working, Option B would lean closer to our current use case, as mostly the latest comment is the most valuable for us.
But the ability to reply to comments isn't high on our wishlist of features, so maybe our input on this matter shouldn't be weighed as heavily.
I think the most important part of this is the ability to sync comments and how this new system would interject with that.
Vidas
michael de decker: we are addressing that sync requirement in parallel. Both improvements can be done as standalone developments from our side.

We are researching which option is the best for our users regarding the 'reply to comment' feature.
[Option A] show replies in a "thread" fashion, meaning that they will stick to the comment and will not appear at the very top as the latest action (e.g. Slack, Discord)
[Option B] quote existing comment and add it together with a reply in the very top. So user always sees what's the latest. But it is less optimal for context keeping. (e.g. Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram)
What do you think?

Kamilla Vit we are ok with both options, but i prefer B. I think there should be no threads-in-threads situations in general, because it means the item is too big / too complex or is not well prepared for implementation and should be divided or discussed / groomed, finding solution not in comments but rather in other ways.

Option A would be ideal for our work. By mentioning people, you can then also ensure that the message is recognised.
The feature would help us a lot to hold discussions about the items in Teamhood and document them much better than if this were done by email.

There are two options how we can solve this: show replies in a "thread" fasion, meaning that they will stick to comment and will not appear at the very top as latest action. Or, option B - quote existing comment and add it together with a reply in the very top. Facebook or Whatsapp messaging apps work this way. So user always sees what's the latest. But it is less optimal for context keeping.
