Different start and end dates for item and subtask

I have assigned a general period of time to the item. But if I then assign a different time period to the subtask, the entire schedule of the item changes. Is there any way I can set that there is no link to this and that the time period of the item is not automatically changed?

In my opinion, that would contradict the meaning of a subtask. I understand these as subtasks of a larger task that are necessary to complete the larger task. The current behavior is therefore understandable.
The presentation in the Gantt chart (see appendix) illustrates this once again. Here, the period of the overall task is shown as brackets, in which subtasks are listed.
If you do not want these to be completed within the time frame of a task, it may be more appropriate to convert the subtask into a main task and represent the interdependence via “Waiting for” /"Locked”.
